Buffalo LINCOLN News
April 13th, 2011
An exciting new lineup of 2011 vehicles is available now at West Herr Ford LINCOLN Mercury, your Buffalo LINCOLN dealer, and the new enhancements are ones you won’t want to miss.
The LINCOLN MKX made its official debut in December ’06 as a 2007 model. Over the years, LINCOLN designers and engineers have poked, prodded and tweaked the midsize crossover-utility vehicle on a regular basis. What we’ve seen is a natural evolution of the vehicle; essentially a finessing of an already nice model has become a technology leader of its class. Equally important, annual updates have morphed the first LINCOLN MKX into a 2011 model year showstopper.
For all intents and purposes, the 2011 MKX, available at your Buffalo LINCOLN dealer, received a comprehensive “nose job.” Included are new fenders with a purposeful raised arch over each front wheel. The hood, fascia and grille are all new, but there’s no mistaking the trademark LINCOLN split wing grille design. Headlamps are revised too. They’re bi-functional projector beams, with adaptive HID lamps as an option. Along the body flanks, the lower cladding is accented with a cleanly tapered chrome accent strip, and the door handles are chrome plated.
Above the driver-side door handle is a securicode keyless entry keypad. The tail lamps are revised, along with the rear fascia. The lamps are now two distinct pieces that incorporate an indirect LED system, which hides the light source while allowing the light intensity to shine through. The sensors for the reverse sensing system are integrated into the reflectors. The exhaust tips are large dual ovals, and are chrome plated. Mirror caps are fresh and body-colored.
Underneath, the standard 18-inch and optional 20-inch rolling stock are new. They incorporate a series of complex shapes to make up the spokes. LINCOLN calls the wheel design “vibrant,” and they’re not exaggerating.
Open a door and you’ll find that the interior is virtually brand new. It’s loaded with quality features and more high-tech equipment than you can literally shake a stick at. The seats are new and, of course, they’re leather trimmed and include a standard tuxedo accent stripe. The dash and door panels are trimmed with real aluminum accent panels. Also available are two different wood accent packages with a choice of Olive Ash or Walnut Swirl trim on the steering wheel, dashboard and the doors.
Little details fill the cockpit, like the bright trim on the vents. The stitching on the door panels is the real deal. Softer materials were used on the armrests. Ambient lighting is available for the cup holders. The console lid, which is actually an independent sliding affair, is covered in leather. A power tilt/telescoping steering column and a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel are available.
